Jobs in Boston?

My wife and I are moving to Boston in July and my only fear is quitting my current job and being able to find work in Boston either before we move or when we get there. Both of us have our degrees, she has her masters and works in publishing and I have worked in advertising sales for 5 years now. Any advice on applying for jobs prior to relocating and how is the job market in Boston?

Jobs in Boston?
The job market is pretty strong -- lots of companies are hiring. I would suggest that you check out the job listings on the Boston Craig's List (http://boston.craigslist.org/). This will give you a good sense of the jobs that are available right now. You'll have to wade through a lot of dreck in the sales jobs listings, but maybe the search engine will give you some good leads.
Reply:You might also consider getting some names of companies from your current employer as well. Since you are relocating, they might be willing to help. The local colleges and universities might also be of some help...if you have any friends who graduated from schools like Tufts, Harvard, BU, BC, UMass, etc. they might contact their alumni/career services depts for you...
Reply:The job market is strong. Check out local listings and talk to some companies as soon as possible. Lots of people these days are posting on www.craigslist.org in their help wanted section. Boston is a great city, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
Reply:Sounds like New York is the city you two should be going to relocate in publishing and advertising mecca of the world
Reply:The job market is pretty good in the boston area. Try looking at Yahoo hotjobs, monster, and boston works to get an idea of positions. I would apply for jobs before you plan on coming and some companies might even spring for a visit (that way you can find somewhere to live). Keep in mind housing can be rather expensive in Boston.
