ok, silly question. I have been a CNA for 2 years, I'm a junior at USF, pursuing my RN. I recently quit my job( b/c I hate it) and because I have little experience, I'm thinking about other entry level jobs like....server..or stripper (at the local place). So I went to the local strip club and the girls were nice and cute. My sister works at Outback and she says she could get me a job. So how is the whole stripping thing? I don't want to get wrapped up with drama and all, but I need money. I'm the only one funding my education and bills. Any advice would be helpful.
Jobs that could suck?
You're going to make 5x the money stripping as you would Outback. Set a goal on either a time or an amount as to when you will stop and KEEP IT. Do NOT get mixed up in the drama. Easily said, not so easily done. DO NOT EVER take a drug.
It is a disgusting, degrading occupation, but you can definitely pay off school doing it. Keep your head on right, you should be fine.
BTW, if you deside to be a server, don't go to a corp, find a nice, privatley owned steakhouse (20 years experience)
Good luck %26amp; ~peace~
Reply:Strippers make more money but Outback servers take more of it home.
Stripping should be your last resort.
Reply:I had a roommate who was a stripper. Yes, she made money hand over fist, but it affected her relationship with her boyfriend, her relationship with her family, her self esteem. Not to mention that you better have a lot of self discipline about spending that money. That's how people get trapped in it.... you make $800/nite, but you'd better be responsible and have a budget for yourself. It's so easy to spend that money when it's jingling around in your pocket. And again, because it's so lucrative, you might be tempted to cease your diploma because you won't make as fabulous money in a career... but you can't strip forever.
That, and she had horrible self esteem. Had to drink to get up the guts to go do it, had razor marks on her arms. So sad. She was GORGEOUS, but I wouldn't have traded my life for hers on a bet. Plus, it just broke my heart that she was one of the smartest women I have seriously ever met in my life, but she always played dumb for guys. She could have gone to med school, she could discuss literature for hours... she was BRILLIANT. But she played the dumb pretty girl, so she's a personal trainer and a stripper now.
What didn't you like about being a CNA? The pay? The work itself? Your coworkers? You might want to pinpoint that before you go get yourself six inch heels and fishnets.
