Obama Promises jobs, health-care, prosperity, and to punish corporations...please explain this to me?

It seems to me that government doesn't really create jobs, I don't understand why Obama wants to attack corporation %26amp; businesss yet at the same time make them expand %26amp; hire?

This doesn't make sense. At a recent Obama rally here in Ohio I heard him time after time bash companies, profits, corporations.

Aren't THESE the people WHO create jobs?

I stood not more than 15 feet away when he said the weathiest Americans should pay their fair-share of the tax burden.

Isn't it a fact that the top 10% (according to the IRS) pay 71.4% of all taxes already.

The bottom 50% only pay 2.4% NOW, these are FACTS not polictical feel good talk.

I heard Obama say at least 20 times that he wants to "LIFT" America...WTH does that mean?? I heard the crowd cheer but when I asked what that means NO ONE knew.

How can you attack the Job MAKERS...and at the SAME time expect them to invest, create jobs and expand if Sen. Obama say's they are the bad guys?

Obama Promises jobs, health-care, prosperity, and to punish corporations...please explain this to me?
Wow you really ask some common sense question there didn't you! unfortunately speeches from Obama and Hillary are targeted to the ignorant uneducated, and ill informed because they know these people are not analytical in their thinking or have clarity of thought.

So it is easy to pander to these people because they don't have to worry about scrutinizing question. That is the fundemental reason I left the democratic party decades ago got tired of having my intelligence insulted.

Read his platform for yourself. Less ranting...more reading!

Obama 2008
Reply:Propoganda! It's just hot air he is spewing. Don't trust this guy.
Reply:Hillary promises the same things. Why does it make sense for her but not for Obama? Doesn't make sense.
Reply:Liberals apparently think we should soak employers for more taxes.
Reply:You are to be commended. You are hard working and trying like heck to get answers. I don't think Obama supporters are going to be able to fully answer your question. They don't know the answers to your questions, because he gives little if any details of any of his plans or this big CHANGE. That's why his supporters keep referring you to his website- they don't know what else to say. None of your questions are answered at his site, as you said you have already found out.

My answer to you is to treat this a one huge red flag as far a Obama is concerned. Not a lot he has said has ever made sense. I agree 100% with your quetions and wish I had answers for them. It's HIS job to answer those questions. He can't- Vote Clinton.
Reply:The only explanation is twisted logic or pandering to the poor.
Reply:If poor people aren't paying much in taxes now, then why do the Republicans always campaign on reducing the tax burden?

Oh, because the Republican gov't of the first 6 yrs of this decade shifted all the financial responsibility for the federally mandated programs to the local governments, so that poor people pay huge sales and property taxes. My bad, I knew the answer to that one. Sorry
Reply:You have cut to the chase. The promises being made by both B. Hussein Obama Bin Laden and Hillary Clinton are ignorant and impractical.

The government, at all levels (federal, state, local, county and foreign) collects almost 45% in taxes, fees and leases from the oil companies. The oil company profits are 13 - 14% and you are correct. A large portion of their stock is held by institutional investors which include retirement and pension funds.
Reply:You are so right on it's not funny.

Unfortunately, Obama isn't the only pol who has zero understanding of economics.

Part of what this country needs is to reduce the tax burden--but we do that with things like the Bush tax cuts--because you are SO right that those "profits" are paid out to folks who INVEST and if anyone has a 401(k) he is a shareholder.

Frankly, another thing the public doesn't understand and the pols don't want to discuss, is that INSURANCE companies make investments in the market with the "float" so if the market doesn't do well (overtaxed) then they make less or even lose money and they jack up premiums as a result.

There is NOTHING to be gained by taxing business heavily--ultimately those costs are passed on to the consumer--so there is NO such thing as a business tax anyway.

But as we have one of the highest business tax rates in the world, we DISCOURAGE investment here AND our government's taxation policies are responsible for the dreaded "outsourcing" that bogus pols blame on the "greedy" businessmen--when it's THEIR out-of-control spending AND taxation policies that drive jobs overseas!

There are quite a few things our government needs to do--but they don't wow crowds. We need to protect and defend the US at home and our interests abroad. We need to reform the bogus tax system (say yes to the Steve Forbes' flat tax). We need to go back on the gold standard. We need to stop pretending that "entitlement" spending is legit when it violates the Constitution--many programs COULD be done but they need to be at the STATE level--see Amendments IX and X.

BTW, I think you'd appreciate a good book by someone who does understand economics AND US history, etc--Cassandra Nathan's Save America, Save the World. Searchable at Amazon.com--and also has a workable health care section.
Reply:Welcome to the club. The problem with the Obama supporters is that they cannot explain what this man is for. What they do is post links to his website, or verbatim cut and paste jobs. The reason why they can't explain it is because he doesn't explain it. He talks about hope and change. He posts all these grand plans which read like a communist manifesto on his page. In every instance he is going to create all this opportunity and prosperity through government regulation, taxation and intervention. It amazes me that people who say they want a change in the business of government are gaga over a guy who epitomizes government control over their lives.

I wouldn't worry too much though. While there is a real chance that Obama could be elected. There is very little chance that he will ever get any major parts of his proposed policy agenda out of committee in Congress.
Reply:he;s just a politician stiring up people so that they;ll vote for him.all the politicians do this every four years.once in office it never happens.you should know that by now.it;s politics at it;s best.remember no politician tells the truth.that;s why they call it dirty politics.
Reply:You see he is just inexperienced and involves in all such talk. It is no more than that.
Reply:hes black he can say anything and the people will cheer
