Jobs in New York?

My husband and I are thinking of moving to New York City. I have been an admin executive for the past 3 years. My dream job has always been working in the city (downtown) working on the 500th floor (basically the skyscrapers) Where are some good places to try looking for a job there. That are downtown high-end jobs? Like in Manhattan??

Jobs in New York?
Go to careerbuilder.com or read on-line versions of newspapers in Manhattan. Many of these companies hire from within before posting jobs to the public. You may just want to send your resume to some companies that you might be interested in.

Reply:Ok first off, downtown in particular refers to a smallish part of manhattan, and there are 'skyscraper' jobs all over manhattan.

Take a look at menupages.com (a food site), they have a great map of the neighborhoods on it. Most of the corporate jobs are midtown or downtown...south of 59th street.

There are tons of headhunters here in NYC so if you have some good experience they may work with you.

Start with the job sites, monster and careerbuilder, spend a little time on craigslist (not a whole lot there for jobs). Many of the ads there are placed by headhunters, and may lead you to some agencies you can work with. DONT PAY ANY OF THEM ANYTHING. A real placement agency will be payed by the hiring firm.
Reply:Get a copy of the New York Times classifieds. You can also read it on line
