Cron jobs. I need to use cron jobs on my site, geocities does not "support" cron jobs...?

I am building a gaming website, the game I am developing right now is a simple text based game which uses "turns", I need to run a cron job which will run a php script every 10 minutes to update player ranks/stats/etc. Is there an outside source/program/server add-on I can get for FREE to run cron jobs for me? I tried a remote cron site and it doesnt seem to work, I think yahoo wont allow it access to my files or something ;'(

Maybe Geocities isn't the correct site for what you're trying to do. Many web hosting companies offer inexpensive Linux web sites which would support your LAMP stack (Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP) as well as cron.
Reply:Free sites like Geocities just aren't designed for what your'e trying to do. They don't allow you to do programming like cron jobs, php, asp or have mysql databases. They're really just designed to have static pages. You need to either buy proper hosting that has the features you need or set up and run your own server.
