What kind of jobs can you do at home?

I am in the midst of a job search and I was just wondering if there are really any ways to work from home that are legit. Not buisnesses that you pay into.

I live in Solano County, California

I am about to be 20. I was layed off a job today and I am looking for jobs close to home or at home. Any ideas? Have you been in the same situation? I don't have any money to purchase goods to start a buisness or anything. I worked as an office manager for almost a year. If you need more info to give your advice please email. I have only been layed off for a few hours, so I cant really go out looking for a job. I am restless right now and wanted to widen my knowledge of what types of jobs I can get without working in a restaurant or retail. I would like to have a part time or full time position in home or close to home, no work on weekends or nights or major holidays, only daytime, early morning to afternoon preffered. I have experience with computors, office management, kids, and animals.

What kind of jobs can you do at home?
Hi,

Sorry to hear ya got laid off :(

It's friday... take the weekend to relax and kick back.

Then on sunday... Sunday is the day when the most jobs are in the classifieds... get a paper and circle a bunch

Get your resume together, and post it on careerbuilder.com

Try to stay away from monster as it is mostly composed of those work at home jobs that most are crap... and it if frustrating trying to weed the good legit jobs out of that clutter of crap.

Monday morning get up early, call around, dress up, go around and give out your resume.

After 3 months of being jobless, i just got a job.

I wasted alot of $ on gas but persistance pays off... I got the job I want. I am a service advisor for a ford store now. A few weeks back, I got on the web and composed a list of 85 dealers and ph #'s... and I went down the list calling and asking if they had any positions... out of 85, I interviewed probably 10-11 of them. Some decided not to hire b/c they couldn't afford to put on another person, one took back the one who left, some plainly filled the position, At one, the guy told me he'd give me the job, but wanted me to interview with this new manager... who f-ed me over and out of a job. I dealt with alot of BS and got irritated with "we'll get back to you"

Once I started spoon feeding the interviewers the BS i knew they wanted to hear is when things started looking better and interviews were lasting an hour or more... these were probably the last 3-4 recent interviews I had, and I finally got a job.

The BS i fed the last interview that got me the job:

1. I'm a team player and get along with others.

2. Customer is my main focus.

3. I'm Organized.

4. I like to learn and better myself.

5. I'm master certified as a service advisor.

6. I know ADP software. (Put whatever software you know here)

7. I use common sense.

8.When I have a goal I set out to achieve it.

9. I plan to stay with the company for a long time.

10. What I need to improve... (put your thing here)

11. What is your best quality... (put your thing here)

I spoon fed the guy the above crap, and to appear knowledgeable and truely interested, asked a few questions pertaining to the company, position, and performance, expectations, etc. Interview lasted over an hour, met with another person. Then the next day got a call to meet with the owner who just wanted a portion of that list above... mainly the customer is primary focus one. Then 2 days later I got the job offer and had to go for a target shooting test (urine test).

I dealt with alot of BS during this pure hell, and it even caused me to lose sleep, alot, just because of the stress... but its all over now, and the work and effort I put in was well worth it.

Best of luck to ya ;)

Reply:How about babysitting or pet care? I'm not sure if you need a license to do those. But if you're allowed to do those, then all you need to do is to give out some flyers for advertising.

Don't go for those online stuff, most of them are scams.
