My resume contains cleaning and dishwashing jobs. Employers assume that i like these jobs because i go to work and do it, but i don't. I would like a change, i do not enjoy being a custodian and it is definatley not the right career for me considering the fact that i'm alreadly really lazy at home but do it because it has to be done . I've thought of getting into a cashier job or another job that draws away from cleaning but requires no upfront experience. I don't feel very confident of this because i find that employers look for experience, experience and experience and that the people my age ( i'm a young adult) are getting these jobs out of luck or throught family members. is this really true? and if not does anyone have any suggestions for me?(fixing my resume, has odd jobs worked for anyone?) and if i can't get into one right away what other jobs are out there for a carless person?
I'm sick of cleaning jobs and would like to get into something else, any suggestions?
Fast food. They hire just about anyone, it's easy to move into management (so there you have customer service and management training to add to your resume). Just find a restaraunt close to you so you can walk or ride a bike to it.
Reply:If I was you I would try a temp agency that would provide you with a position you'll be interested in doing. They would put you in something that would require you to get train in.
Try office work, like clerical
Good luck.
Reply:Looking at your experience, your destiny is to clean.
Reply:I was in the same position. I cleaned for three different companys for over 5 years. I wanted to get into office/clerical/retail. I tried going through temp services but they all wanted someone with experience. I finally got a job at a cash advance store. No experience is required since they train. It's pretty easy. Its inbetween office and retail. So far I really like it. You can try applying at cash stores or retail stores like Walmart or Target. They are usually hiring for seasonal help around this time. You can do that to gain experience. Good luck!
