I'm a film major that is entering my sophomore year at a major university. I am curious as to what jobs I could pursue once I graduate that get me involved in the industry, and provides enough flexibility to where I could get better paying jobs in the future. How difficult is it to aquire this job? What sort of income could I feasibly make starting out? Please provide me with as much detail as possible.
What job should I pusue after film school that provides decent imcome and the possibility of better jobs?
you should definitely try to get an internship . . . it usually won't pay, but it will give you priceless experience (and sometimes you can get college credit)
unless you are in New York or LA, there probably isn't a wide variety of available entry-level jobs in the film industry . . .
it really depends on what you want to do in the film industry - producing, editing, the business/legal side, technical stuff?
go to monster.com (or some other job search engine) and search for jobs in "Arts, Entertainment, and Media" near your location . . . look at the types of jobs that are entry-level (or that you meet the experience requirements) . . . see if any of those interest you

Reply:Start your own video company specializing on weddings, funerals, birthdays, special occasions, etc...
On the way up, start filming your own movie...
Maybe try applying to advertising company, they film commercial ads, demo, MTV maybe...
Good Luck!!!
