Jobs for young teens?

Im 14 yrs old (yeah i know,im young, dont dwell on it) I live with my parents and brother. My dad is the only one capable to get a job since my mom has health problems and all. My dads job is cutting all the employees and his salary including in half, and now its been getting hard to earn money and everything we need.

Is there any kind of job besides babysitting and dog walking or lawn work (theres no jobs like that around my neighborhood, they already got ppl to do it for them) for a teen like me that i can do so i can at least try to help out?

Jobs for young teens?
Jobs

There are many ways you can earn money. I baby-sit and I get paid very well. But I think you have to be 13-14 to start.

My Rates

1-2 kids ~ $5.00/hour

Each additional child ~ $1.25/hour

*When you are babysitting a baby under 10 months old, you should ask to be paid a bit more than your regular charge, since you must give more attention, change the baby, feed the baby, and put the baby to bed.

Another Idea is to have a bake sale/ lemonade stand. Me and my sisters baked all week, made poster signs and decided how much we should charge for each baking good. Any age is perfect for this job!

Another good job is to start a walking dogs for neighbours that have dogs. You can either put up posters around town, or hand out fliers to people you know that have dogs. I would charge 5 dollars per dog.

Another good job is to wash cars, or open a car wash business with friends for a few days, mow the lawn, shovel drive ways in the winter, paper-rout and help people clean there house that might need help.

If are 14 years or older, you could also work at fast food restaurants, or grocery stores too.

IF you choose babysitting, here are some ways you can find costumers.

You can hand out flyers to people that you know have kids, like neighbours.

Finding Work

To find work when you're getting started, ask around. Maybe your neighbours or others you know have heard of sitting jobs. When looking for work, be careful:

*Don't ever advertise. Anyone could take your name or number. Not all people have good intentions

* Don't sit for people you don't know or who haven't been recommended. Babysitting for strangers you don't know could be risky if you know nothing about them.

*Meet with family before agreeing to baby-sit for them. Even if you are referred by someone you know, you may not like the situation in the home or attitude of the parents, or you may just not feel right about it. If so, don't take the job.

Above are some helpful tips while looking for a job, I got these tips at my babysitting course.

Have fun, Be safe!
Reply:You cant do anything if you live in usa or canada working for your family, its not enough.
Reply:I'm kinda wondering the same thing.
Reply:Wait a year and work in McDonald's or some other restaurant.

Babysitting, petsitting, walking the dogs, newspaper route [lol, do they even have those anymore?], anything around the nieghborhood. maybe if you know an old lady who could use some help around the outside of the house?
Reply:you can ebay some things with your dad's permission, not garbage but things that people will buy...you can also bake cookies, make fudge and sell them to your neighbors, geta paper route
Reply:go out to the stores and apply..fast food.. restaurants

ps- i pretty sure you have to be 15 1/2 to work and with a work permit(school shod have them) but you can only work for very short time i mean like hours but most people dont even ask for a permit :)
Reply:You poor thing, I am sorry you have to carry any of this burden. Is there a local coffee shop? What about bussing tables at a local restaurant? Check for a job at a library. Good Luck!
Reply:Unless you are a freshman in high school pretty much thats all you can do. Since most places (fast food) require you to be AT LEAST 15, you could lie a year...My dad did ton get in the army. And it worked. Now he's retired.
Reply:OK, I'm 14 and work at Publix. It is a good job, and you can get a job at 14.
Reply:In some states 14 year olds can work with a work permit. You should check into it, grocery stores are the most likely to hire kids that young, as a bagger. It isn't that bad of a job and you can even make tips. Focus on school first though, get a good education, go to college. That is the best way to help out in the long run. You can help out around the house by not being wasteful with things like food and electricity. There are ways to cut down on things like laundry, wear pj's two or three nights before washing them (after all, you only sleep in them). Generic brands are just as good as name brands, etc.
Reply:you can do part time jobs, like in groccery shops, hotels..
Reply:i think that you should get a permit if you have one saying how many hours a week you can work people at restraunts and different peolple will act better and NOT WORRY about your age you might be able to get one if you let the people that give the permit know whats going on
Reply:well i dont really know where you live but a lot of places have sign waving where you stand outside, hold a sign for new housing and you get payed 10 an hour and the usually hire kids as young as 14
Reply:You can always check for internships. Some afterschool programs will higher 14 yearolds.

If you are interested in a certain field, call up someone who does that and just ask them.

I want to be an attorney, and I called one in my town, now I work for her. %26amp;%26amp; I'm only 15.
Reply:Right now I dont think so, but when you're 15 you can work at a supermarket, or small businesses. But right now you can either wait untill you're 15, or sell some drugs.
