I'm a woman about to join the air force if all goes well. Basically i just want some more job ideas bc i am going to take the asvab tomorrow and the physical the next day then sign the contract so i need a list of 5 jobs or so. i'm trying to be flexible with my job choices so i can leave sooner but i want a job i will truly enjoy. I don't mind havin a hands on job if it's cool either. i want intelligence operation apprentice but don't want to get hooked on one job. i've looked into a lot but opinions are nice to hear.
What are specific jobs in air force that are challenging and also fun?
Intelligence would be a great field. it covers a wide range of subject areas, so if you want something new and challenging when you change stations, you can work in an intelligence office that covers a different area or topic.
another area to look into (depending on your interests) would be an S.P. (special police, the AF military police). Like intel, you could have the opportunity to work in multiple areas at different posts. Good luck!
Reply:Let's see how you come out on your ASVAB before you make any career choices. Every job was open to me in the Air force, but that is not the norm.
Reply:P.J's (Para-Rescue Jumpers) BUT! your a GIRL!!!
Well Babe if every job was open to you, how come you're not a General on the "Joint Chiefs"?
Reply:Did Intelligence for 8 years. Was great.
Depends on if you want to travel, do something technical, medical.
Decide a field that you might be interested in and give it a shot. You can switch jobs at 3 years if you don't like it.
Good Luck!
Reply:The intelligence operation apprentice isn't just one job...its actually a job that you can do multiple things. The other 1NXXX career fields are more specialties. It all depends on what you want to do and learn. If you want fun and excitement then choose a job that is mainly hands-on...Security Forces for example...but I know many of people that don't like that job and have changed career fields. One job, other than intel, is ATC (Air Traffic Control)... this job is demanding and will give you a challenge. Research everything...if you really want a job...make sure you get it in writing before you leave for basic training..trust me.
Reply:Air traffic controller, Language expert (they teach you the new language), intel fields (I was on one of them), maint electricians, many different kinds all excellent jobs, and many more jobs the higher score you make on the test the more jobs you will have open to you. Stay away from Cop fields.
