Which of these two jobs should i take? Which one has a better future of making more money in the future?

i have just graduated from a university here in Thailand, with a GPA of 3.81, i'm qualified for the 1st honor rank which is the Summa Cumma Laude. My english is pretty good and fluent.Anyway, I've been offered 2 jobs at 2 different organization: Pricewaterhouse Coopers(PWC) and ExxonMobil. The dilemma here is that the job is different and so is the salary.

At PWC, i'm offered a job as a tax consultant with a salary of only 16k baht (convert to $ div by 36). The job is supposed to be very challenging as i'll be working with a new tax case like every week but the pay is real low for a person with my qualifications

While Exxon has offered me a job as Accounting Analysis. Responsible for performing duties related to fixed-asset accounting, inter-company accounting, bank reconciliation, inventory accounting, cost allocation, account closing, financial accounting and/ or balance sheet. The pay is 25 k , not sure if the job is challenging.

which job do i have a better future with? Help

Which of these two jobs should i take? Which one has a better future of making more money in the future?
From what i see. you are still young. and with such good results, what you need is to start having a "colourful" portfolio for yourself.

Work with a company that has the best prospect for you, or even a good future for you.

Otherwise, i would also recommend you to work with a MNC (Multi-national Company) to see how a corporation works and also to gain experience. Challenging or not is another issue. But what is important is that you are paid for what you are worth, and your portfolio gets the names to get you to other better places in future.

look far and wide. Exxon is good. But after joining exxon for like 3-4years, you might wish to consider hopping to the next job already. remember. Colourful portfolio is good.

Specialisation is important. Its good to know everything. but the con is that you Excel at nothing. Specialise in one area of finance that you are comfortable with too.

good luck on your first job!
Reply:With the oil profits in the BILLIONS by ripping off the consumer...I would say EXXON MOBIL is a stable and wise choice.

Good Luck
Reply:You'll have a better future with PWC, but you could take the Exxon job for now and look for something else in 2-3 years.

Good luck! :)
Reply:always go with the higher pay
Reply:I'd go with Exxon.... they are the bigger company and better pay.

I'm surprised by the pay of these two jobs... less than $1,000 a year. Move to America and get either job and make $40,000 a year starting out.
Reply:if you are qualified to make more money than what they offer, i would go with the higher pay. mostlikly your future will be better with someone who reconizes your full potential.
Reply:The pay is so much better with ExxonMobil.

Makes me think the opportunity is better as well.

Good luck on your new job.
Reply:Take a job w/ Exxon. Once you start the job... and hang in there for at least a year... see how it goes, if you're not satisfied... by the end of the year you can demand either more responsibility or look for another job and w/ your qualifications and job experience at Exxon you won't have any problems finding a REALLY good job.
Reply:Well, I'd say the one with ExxonMobil. It seems to me it pays better, and, even if it isn't challenging, there's always the chance of a promotion to a job with more challenging responsibilities.
Reply:Take the job that pays more. When you look for another job, companies want to know your salary, so more money now might help you get more in your next job, etc.
Reply:go for the one that offers you the most $$$$, isn't that why you went to the University for?? to get a better job, right!!

Better in my book is better benefits, better pay, better situation.....now if you get a busy job for more$$ is better than a less work but less pay job.............in the future you will find a job where you get more $$$$ and less work but for now get the one with the most pay!!
