Jobs for a 12-13 yr old?

i have a freind that lives in ny. Her parents dont let her do any work she cant do anychore she cant rake leavs, no pet sitting, no baby sitting, no lemonade stands, and shes not allowed to go to anyones house to like go to there neighbors house and the poor girl cant even work where her mom and dad work. I've been freinds w/ her since i was very young. BUT she wants to get a job somewhere she cant wake up early to go and do a paper route. cause her parents are over protective . As her bff i tell her tha she is too young but sh wants to get some money and earn the value of a dollar. She asked me n what shoud she do i was thinking of telling her to relax and stay home. your too young to get a job. but she wont listen can someone give me an idea of what i should say to her or if there are any jobs please list appropriate jobs for her

Jobs for a 12-13 yr old?
She is too young to have a regular job and if her parents aren't going to let her do anything then she may be stuck. She's not legally old enough to work anywhere. She may have to wait till she's 18 and then find a real job. I hate it when parents that overprotective of their kids. Let them have some fun and earn a couple of bucks here and there.

Yes 13 is way too young, and she's in New York city. One of the most dangerous cities for kids. Her parents have every right to be protective of her.





No she cannot legally work - except in TV, theatre, movies, radio and as a model. Usually she would have to be in high school to be eligible for a work permit.

Reply:Well if you were living in New York you would understand why her parents are so strick about what she does and where she goes. Also there are not jobs for a 12,13,14, 15 year olds to have. Your friend just need to wait till shes of age to work. She has many years ahead of her to work. The child labor law was not made for nothing.
