Do Democrats really want better jobs, more employment, etc for everyone?

I got to thinking about what Democrats say and it doesn't add up. for some time I've been hearing them complain about jobs that are going overseas. Sure they are leaving the US. But where the jobs are going aren't the jobs better than the ones that are already there? Isn't the pay for those jobs higher than other jobs in the area? And isn't the standard of living going up in the areas where the new jobs are? Excuse me but better jobs, higher pay, increased standard of living isn't that what Democrats are always pushing for?

And what about that illegal that comes here and takes what ever job he/she can find because there is no job where they come from. They make more money here than they could where they came from. Why are Democrats upset with that?

What makes a US citizen special? Why should they be complaining because their house is too small when someone in another country would just like to have a roof that doesn't leak?

Do Democrats really want better jobs, more employment, etc for everyone?
Democrats have to paint Republicans as the party of big business and not caring about the little people to create class warfare and try to retain power. That's not the case at all, but it sells well to all of those who are on entitlement programs, which is the strength of the common Democrats. By keeping people on entitlement programs they retain their political base dependent on them for funding.

People like Retro fall for this misguided logic.

Republicans are the party of opportunity. They want to give everyone the chance at success. One way to do that is to insure that businesses have the resources to hire and expand. It is totally counterproductive to complain about not taxing business and the wealthy more and then expect unemployment to remain low.

And what makes a US Citizen special is that in the US they are special; they have rights afforded to them that others should not have. Why should my small business be taxed out of existence so that I can provide free health care for Mexican Nationals? Why should I not be able to provide a nice home and life for my family because I worked my butt off to succeed?

I think that addresses the three main questions you asked.
Reply:Compared to WHAT, the Republicans who gladly ship our jobs overseas through Republicans who accept campaign contributions from foreign lobbyists?

I'll believe this pro-Republican argument the day the Republicans stop selling out to cheap labor and try to turn this country into a "Made in China" nation.

As McCain said in Michigan "The jobs are gone and they are not coming back".

The problem with your argument is the Republican Party always was, and will always be, a party tied with big business. It works agianst, not for, the majority of workers. Thats why the republicans MUST run on wedge issues to get the minority wins they need to stay in power.

And I have never heard of a Republican who complains about an American who thinks they're house is too small. I thought unlimited consumerism is what's its all about?
Reply:Your argument disqualifies both parties. If you really do think like this you should get involved with an overseas charity. If any political party proposed sending the majority of government money to other countries, I don't think voters would keep them in power.
Reply:Absolutely. You forgot...why do they need to take even more in taxes? I'd need a lot more room than they give here to name all of them, yet they can't get enough.

Edit: 5 thumbs down from people who vote for "other people" to pay more. I bet they either collect an entitlement or work for the government. Either way, they are self serving.
Reply:all of that is fine, however, I would rather help out my neighbor first before someone in a different country. a lot of people here ARE struggling and it isn't because they are lazy.
Reply:Nice try at a straw man argument.

You are forgetting that if we export all our jobs, then what happens to the hundreds of millions of Americans? Yes, we would love it if our economy was robust enough to export jobs to areas of the world that need it. But why would we want to give up jobs here and then give tax breaks to companies who don't employ Americans???

The illegals only come here because they are invited by the corporations that hire them illegally. That will not change soon and is not even a party platform. Neither party wants anything to be done on the matter because most politicians are in the pockets of the "international corporations".

The only thing that makes U.S. citizens special is that we should get our own house in order before trying to fix others'.

There is so much to do in this country that we do not need to go traveling to find people to help.
