..Ok so look. I am a college student in Las Vegas, NV. I have my own 2 bd 2 br apt, no job and I'm about to turn 21 in like a week. Oh and I got a bench warrant for some bs that happened bacc in Cali which got my license suspended, but that's kinda irrelevant.
I have plenty of ?'s but to keep this short, what kind of job can I get that will provide a solid and legitimate income? And not none of these lil punk-*** bottom-feeder jobs like McDonalds or ish like that. I can't live off of minimum wadge and these employment agencies out here are lame. Most of my work experience comes from clerical/ data entry or warehouse jobs but I can do pretty much anything cuz I have bomb work-ethics.
I need to find a job within the next 2 weeks that will help me pay off all this bull and get my L's bacc at least by January. Any advice?
Rent, jobs, college, warrants and some other bs..?
Im in reno nv so I know...YOU CAN NOT WORK IN A CASINO OR A PAWN SHOP until you get the warrants dealt with (september is amnesty month btw)...Look on craigslist...Call centers, wherehouses (like u said) and promotional work are all good starters..Non casino hotels...higher end restaurants/bars (Anything with Gaming is not ok till warrant gone) somewhere wit tips
Reply:HELLO? You live in Vegas? Go work for a casino.
Reply:Who would give an apartment to someone without a job?
Reply:Warehouse work probably pays better than fast food, so that might be your best option. And unfortunately the CA warrant is NOT irrelevant, since it could keep you out of being eligible for some jobs, both now and after you graduate.
If you are expecting to graduate in Jan 2008 you should probably just take what you can get for now, and focus on getting a regular job for after graduation.
Reply:take whatever job you can get for now until you get your license back, then find a good job through a Union local
Reply:I don't really think you have the best attitude. Beggars can't be choosers and something is better than nothing. Why don't take a that is lower paying while you continue to look for a higher paying position. Perhaps the higher paying position will be part-time and the lower paying job can supplement your income. Visit the unemployment office. Talk to them right away and see if they have anything available. Start getting your resume out there. Honestly the lower paying jobs may be your only bet if you must start in 2 weeks. The higher paying jobs usually take several interviews, background checks, and longer to find out if you are hired.
