I am a grad student and am looking for a new job that will be slow moving so that I can read on the job. I applied for a job at the school library, because every time I go in there, they don't look too busy. I could probably read in between helping library patrons. But what are some other jobs where I will be able to spend a decent amount of time reading while at work? (It's important that reading on the job not be something I have to hide from the supervisor!) Any ideas are much appreciated!
Mellow jobs with downtime in which I can get reading done?
Some security posts - especially night - this is okay.
Also, I have heard Limo drivers - you drive the patrons %26amp; then sit around for a few hours . . .
Reply:Try a security guard on the night shift. I had a co-worker whom was in college, he worked the 4:00pm-midnight. He did a lot of reading and homework.
Reply:security guard
reception desk in some companies (hospitals are usually good for this.)
Reply:well that is mabey beacause that is the top up person in the library... the other people will probaly be getting this book for that person doing a check on this isle so it is organized!
Reply:This is not so much a way to make money directly but it might put extra in your hands. Be a House sitter. My sister did this during grad school and that way she didn't have to pay rent. She usually sat for professors who were going on long trips so that it minimized the moving.
Reply:Security Gaurd for corporations.
